O método

A estrutura. O que o arquivo faz e o que ele se recusa a fazer.

The Archivist Method: Um sistema para enxergar um comportamento que se repete e cortá-lo nos segundos antes de ele começar. Não é tratamento e não faz nenhuma afirmação clínica. Mantém um registro e entrega um mecanismo, e o que você conclui sobre si continua sendo seu.
O Protocolo das Quatro Portas: As quatro portas, em ordem. Nenhuma delas exige que você entenda a sua infância primeiro, e a segunda é a única opcional.
O Foco: Ratified August 2026, and it is already named as the first door in docs/seo/PORTUGUESE-ARCHIVE-SCOPE-v1.md section 4.4 and asserted as a MUST PASS case in docs/seo/PORTUGUESE-DICTION-v1.md section 7.3 (`A primeira porta e o Foco.`). This DIVERGES FROM SPANISH ON A FACT: Spanish rejected `Foco` because it is a light bulb across most of Latin America. In Brazil `foco` is the ordinary everyday word for focus and for the act of focusing, in `perder o foco`, `foco no trabalho`, `sem foco`. `Enfoque` is rejected because Brazilian `enfoque` means an angle or an approach to a subject, not the act of focusing, so it names the wrong thing. `foco` is one of the four strings no `pt` diction rule may ever match (scope section 4.4): a Standing Law 8 ban on it would fail the build on the framework's own door.
A Escavação: The archaeology metaphor is the brand's and the cognate carries it exactly in Portuguese. `Sondagem` is a drilling survey and also an opinion poll, both of which point away. `O Resgate` is a rescue, which changes what this door claims to do: it finds the Original Room, it does not save anybody from it.
A Interrupção: Direct. `A Quebra` is deliberately left free because it is the right word for the tool and the door and the tool must not share a name. `A Ruptura` is rejected AS A NAME only: matched case-sensitively, so lowercase `a ruptura` stays the ordinary Brazilian word for a breakup and the transition sector keeps it. WATCHED, NOT BLOCKING: `interrupcao da gravidez` is the standard Brazilian legal and medical collocation, exactly as `interrupcion del embarazo` is in Spanish and `interruption volontaire de grossesse` is in French. Both of those archives shipped the bare noun and neither review found the collocation reaching a door name that stands beside Foco, Escavacao and Reescrita. Recorded rather than resolved, and the collocation itself never appears in Portuguese copy.
A Reescrita: Ratified August 2026, and already asserted as a MUST PASS case in docs/seo/PORTUGUESE-DICTION-v1.md section 7.1 (`A quarta porta e a Reescrita.`). It locks to the hope refrain by root: escrito, reescrito, Reescrita. `Reescritura` is the Latinate form and is academic in Brazil; `reescrita` is the ordinary noun. `A Reprogramacao` is rejected because it reads as brainwashing, which is the one thing this door is not, and because `reprogramacao mental` is Brazilian coaching vocabulary. A RESSIGNIFICACAO IS THE MOST IMPORTANT REJECTION IN THIS FILE. It is the house word of Brazilian coaching and it is banned diction on its own (docs/seo/PORTUGUESE-DICTION-v1.md section 1.5), and it is listed here as well because a Brazilian writer will reach for it FOR THIS DOOR specifically. It proposes something that sounds adjacent and is the opposite in mechanism: it leaves the behaviour intact and changes the story told about it. Nothing in the circuit moves. The whole differentiation of this archive from Brazilian coaching sits in the gap between `reescrever` and `ressignificar`, and a rule keyed on the second must never reach the first (scope section 4.4).

O mecanismo

O que acontece no corpo, e em que ordem.

o arquivo: THE SPANISH ANSWER DOES NOT PORT AND THAT IS THE FINDING. `Expediente` is exactly a case file in Latin American Spanish and in Brazil it means the working day and office hours, `o expediente comeca as oito`, so the Spanish rendering would name the wrong object entirely. `o arquivo` is the plain Brazilian word and it reads right in the sentences this term actually appears in. `o dossie` is rejected on the German DE-6 ground: a dossie is compiled about you by somebody else in order to be used, and the German review closed `die Akte` precisely because no construction in the archive keeps a file about the reader by anybody else. In Brazil that reading is heavier again. `o prontuario` is the medical record and puts the reader in a patient's chair. `a ficha` is spent on the PATTERN SNAPSHOT label, exactly as it was in Spanish; only the drift form `a ficha do leitor` is rejected here, so the label keeps the word. `o expediente` is NOT rejected even though it is the string a builder importing the Spanish canon would produce: it is the everyday Brazilian word for the working day, a work-arena H1 may legitimately need it, and an over-ban that fails the build on honest copy is the failure mode that gets a rule deleted. The reason it does not port is recorded here instead.
O Acervo: DIVERGES FROM SPANISH DELIBERATELY, on a Brazilian usage fact rather than on preference. Spanish rejected `El Acervo` as technically correct and failing the 1am standard. In Brazil `acervo` is ordinary public vocabulary printed on library and museum signage, `o acervo da biblioteca`, `acervo digital`, and a stressed non-technical reader parses it without pausing. It is taken here because `o arquivo` is already the reader's own file and the two must not differ only by a capital letter, which is the collision Spanish refused and which Portuguese would have inherited. `O Fundo Documental` is the technically correct archival term and is exactly the 1am failure. WATCHED for the native read (ledger PT-1): this is the entry in the file where a Brazilian ear is most likely to disagree with a Brazilian dictionary.
ARQUIVO ABERTO: Follows `o arquivo`. Status stamp, all caps, unchanged in form.
ARQUIVO ENCERRADO: `Encerrado` is what happens to a file and `fechado` is what happens to a door, which is the same distinction French drew between `clos` and `ferme`. Brazilian usage carries it plainly in `caso encerrado`. Only the ALL CAPS stamp is reserved: lowercase `o arquivo esta fechado` is ordinary prose and stays free.
o anexo: `Anexo` is the ordinary administrative word for something added to a file and every Brazilian meets it weekly on an email attachment. `Adendo` is the more precise cognate and is bookish.
a conservação: `A conservacao` is the real Brazilian archival word for keeping a thing safe, `conservacao do acervo`. Both obvious alternatives are rejected on Brazilian collocation: `a guarda` reads first as child custody, and `a custodia` is carceral (`prisao em custodia`) and financial (`custodia de ativos`). French made the same move for the same reason.
o primário e os secundários: The paired set stays paired. Page copy may say `o padrao principal` where the pairing is not in play, which is why that phrase is not rejected outright.
a janela: Direct, and `a janela de tres a sete segundos` reads perfectly in Brazilian Portuguese. This is the term the whole brand is built on and the cognate costs nothing. `o intervalo` IS DELIBERATELY NOT REJECTED: it is the plain-language form, it is what docs/seo/PORTUGUESE-DICTION-v1.md already uses in two ratified MUST PASS assertions, and rejecting it would make one Phase 0 artifact fail the build on another.

OBSERVAÇÃO DE CAMPO: Direct, and it keeps the field-researcher register the label exists to signal. The unaccented spelling is rejected explicitly because Brazilians type without accents constantly and a label is the one place the archive cannot fold them.
FICHA DO PADRÃO: `Instantaneo` is a photograph and reads odd on a block of text, which is the objection Spanish, German and French all made independently. `Uma ficha` is the index card in a filing system, which is what this block actually is, and Brazil gives the word a resonance no other language has: `caiu a ficha` is the ordinary idiom for the moment somebody finally understands, which is the exact event this block is written to produce. It earns the word outright, which is why the file takes `o arquivo` and the first domino takes `o elo`.
RECONHECIMENTO: Direct, no loss. It is a callout label and NOT a door, which is why `Reconhecimento` is in NON_DOORS_PT.
MECANISMO: Direct, no loss. GUARD, non-blocking: docs/seo/PORTUGUESE-DICTION-v1.md rows 18 and 15 ban `mecanismo de defesa`, `mecanismos de defesa` and `mecanismo de enfrentamento`. Those are collocations and the bare noun is not banned, which is what keeps this label lawful. A rule that generalises to bare `mecanismo` would fail the build on a callout label.
FRASE DE INTERRUPÇÃO: `Uma frase` is a sentence, which is exactly what this block is: a line that has to be said out loud. `Roteiro` in Brazilian Portuguese is a film script or a travel itinerary, which is the objection French made to `script` and Spanish answered with `guion`. The bare anglicism `SCRIPT` is Standing Law 8. `GUIAO` is European Portuguese and is out of scope by ruling PT-2.
MOLDE DE REESCRITA: Locks to the Reescrita door. `Molde` is the mould or the sewing pattern, the concrete thing you cast a new shape in, and Japanese reached the same answer independently with the template sense rather than the frame sense. The Spanish `MARCO` does not port: in Brazil `marco` is a milestone or a landmark, not a frame. `REENQUADRAMENTO` is rejected outright because reframing is a named psychotherapy technique in Brazil and a callout label may not be one, which is the ground French used to reject `RECADRAGE`.
TAREFA DE CAMPO: `Tarefa` is the thing you were given to go do. `Atribuicao` is translationese, `trabalho de campo` already means fieldwork as a discipline, `exercicio` reads like a workbook which the field manual exists not to be, and `tarefa de casa` is homework.
