    The Window

Press begin to walk through the seconds before a pattern runs. Nothing is measured and nothing is scored.

The beat ends when you tap. The page never grades how long you stayed. It takes nothing from you and keeps nothing.

    What the beat walks through

    THE BODY SIGNAL

The physical event that precedes a pattern: the body signal, felt in the moment. A band around the chest, a drop in the stomach, heat up the neck, the jaw setting. It arrives before any thought explains it, which is what makes it usable as a starting gun. The body signature is a different thing: the mapped record of a pattern's signals across time, written into the file.

Catch: Feel the body signal and name the pattern before it becomes the behavior.

    THE NARRATION

The thought that arrives after the body signal to explain what you are about to do. It sounds like a reason and it is a description. You are not constructing that story. You are receiving one.

    THE WINDOW

Formally, The Interception Window: the interval between the body signal and the automatic behavior, where Behavioral Interception happens. Three to seven seconds is the working figure a reader trains toward after Catch, not a universal biological interval. Inside it the circuit has not committed. It is the only place an interruption fits, and it is taught free, in full, permanently.

Each term has its own page in the lexicon. The three moves that use the window are on the protocol page.

9 PATTERNS  /  YOURS HAS A NAME  /  NO PAYMENT

The window is the gap between the first signal in your body and the behavior. Three to seven seconds is a working figure for that gap. It is drawn from what people report about their own sequences, not from a stopwatch in a laboratory. Some sequences run at the short end and some at the long, and the same person will find it varies. It is the scale you train toward after Catch. Catch is the first move: feel the body signal and name the pattern before it becomes the behavior. Your body is not obliged to keep to that number.
