    The nine patterns

    Nine files, and the set never grows. Each one is a behavior that runs before you decide it, on a physical signal that arrives seconds ahead of the thing you would swear you chose. Three to seven is our working figure for that gap, drawn from what people report about their own sequences rather than from a laboratory measurement.

    Every file below is open. Nothing on this shelf is held back, priced, or gated. Read the one whose question you have already typed somewhere at one in the morning, and if two of them fit, read both. More than one may be familiar. You choose which one to work on first.

    How the files are used

    Every file runs on the same structure, and the structure has its own page. Catch, Intercept, Rewrite is what you do with a pattern once you can see it: feel the signal and name the pattern, interrupt the usual response and choose a different action, then repeat that action until it comes easier. It is taught free because the way out is never the thing being sold.

    The words the archive uses are its own, and there is a page for those too, written plainly for anyone who just met one of them and wanted to know what it meant.

    If it only shows up in one part of your life

    A pattern rarely announces itself as a pattern. It announces itself as a room. The money that never stays, the work that never gets finished, the fourth ask at half past six. The pages below are written from inside those rooms, in the words people actually use there. None of them is a tenth file. Each one is one of the nine above, answered in one arena, and each one links back to its full file.

    If you are here about somebody else

    Some people arrive at this shelf holding a file that is not theirs. There are pages for that, written for the person standing next to a pattern rather than the person running it. They will not hand you a verdict about anybody, because the only pattern anyone can interrupt is the one in their own body.

    If something in your life just changed

    An arena is a room. A transition is a window in time, and inside one the pattern is not different, it is loud, because the conditions it was built for have just reappeared. The pages below are indexed by the transition rather than by the file, and each one names the two or three of the nine that reliably surface there. None of them treats the transition itself as the file. Grief is not a pattern.
