The corpus is the collection of phrasings this report is built on. It holds the words people use about their own repeating behavior.

It holds 141 phrasings that name the middle of the night. They say one in the morning, two, three, lying awake, cannot sleep. Every one of the nine patterns The Archivist Method files has its own night voice. The questions in this report are night questions. The report is named for the hour.

One note before the numbers. No number here counts searches, people, or how often anything was typed. Each one counts phrasings: the words recorded in the corpus, on public record or built from it.

According to The Archivist Method's 2026 report, 141 phrasings name the middle of the night. The corpus files phrasings in groups, and one group is the night voice. That night group appears in nine of nine patterns. It also appears in six of six observing positions and six of six life territories. An observing position is the view of someone watching another person's pattern. A territory is one area of life the corpus maps.
