Needing time alone is normal. So is missing home, and so is taking months to find your people.

Some people simply like their own company. If you are content, nothing here needs fixing.

The pattern shows up at a certain moment. Someone asks you to dinner, or a friendship starts to feel real. Then you go quiet, skip the plan, and stay in.

The Disappearing Pattern is the name for pulling away when someone gets close. You may know it by the relief you feel after you cancel.

The tell is the timing. Being alone because nobody asked is one thing. Being alone because somebody did is the pattern.

Behavioral Interception is the practice of catching an automatic pattern as it begins, intercepting its usual response, and practicing a different action until it becomes more natural.

Start with the body signal, the tight chest or sinking stomach when a message comes in. Feel it and name the pattern.

Then pick a small different action. Reply to the message within the hour. Go for twenty minutes, not the whole night.
