People often look away from their own failures, which makes them hard to learn from

The authors reviewed the research and say learning from failure is hard. They name two barriers.

The first is feeling. Failure is a blow to how people see themselves, so they look away from it.

The second is thinking. The lesson in a failure is less direct than in a success. So it is harder to pull out.

The authors also say what gets missed. The information in failure is often good information, and it can help predict success.

It does not say failure is useless. It says the lesson is there but hard to reach.
